Pull a company brief before a meeting
duetcases.com is an unofficial community site. It is not affiliated with Anthropic. Duet may be a trademark of Anthropic.
What this does
Claude Duet can pull together a brief on a company before a meeting, using the example in the help center. A longer brief can land as a file in the Make tab. Emailing someone to move the meeting still waits for your approval.
Problem
The meeting is on the calendar. The context is not. Opening a new search for every company is the work this case tries to hand off.
The help center gives the request in Anthropic’s words: “Pull together a brief on this company before my 2 pm meeting.” The same article says a larger job can come back as a file in the Make tab, and a research brief is one of the file types it names.
What this case does not add is a silent calendar edit. If the next step is an email asking someone to move, that message waits for approval. Anthropic has described testers using Claude Duet around their own meetings. Those are Anthropic’s stories. This template does not promise a reschedule.
This page prepares a brief for a meeting that is already on the calendar. Getting the meeting onto the calendar is Schedule a meeting. A slide deck you review in the Make tab is a different case: Build a slide deck with Claude Duet.
Steps
- 1Connect Google Calendar yourself so Claude Duet can see the meeting. The help center’s example is: “Pull together a brief on this company before my 2 pm meeting.”
- 2Paste the prompt and name the meeting if more than one is coming up. Say what “enough” looks like: a few paragraphs, or a longer file.
- 3Read the brief against what you already know. Claude Duet can be wrong about a company, the same way it can misread a thread.
- 4If the job is large, look in the Make tab. The help center says finished work such as a research brief shows up there.
- 5If the useful next step is asking someone to move the meeting, that email waits for approval. This template does not claim Claude Duet edits the event on its own. Anthropic’s story about a tester using it around meetings is their anecdote, not a promise that a meeting will be rescheduled.
Before my next meeting, pull together a short brief on the company or person I am meeting. Use my calendar to see who it is and when it is. Cover what I should know going in, and what I might want to ask. If the brief gets long, put the finished file in the Make tab. Do not email anyone to move or cancel the meeting unless I approve that message. Do not change the calendar event on your own.
When to use
- The meeting is already on a connected calendar, and you want a brief rather than a new search tab.
- You can live with a check that is not instant. Connected accounts are checked every few hours, not continuously.
- You do not need the agent to rearrange other people’s calendars without you.
FAQ
Is the 2 pm example real?
Yes. It is the help center’s wording: “Pull together a brief on this company before my 2 pm meeting.” The time is their example, not a schedule this site adds.
Where does a long brief go?
The help center says larger jobs return files in the Make tab, including a research brief.
Will it reschedule the meeting?
Not as a silent edit. If it would email someone, that send is designed to wait for your approval. This case does not treat Anthropic’s tester stories as a feature you can count on.
Claude Duet is a research preview. It can misread a thread or misjudge what is urgent. Review every draft and approval before you confirm it.
