Build a dashboard or forecast from connected apps

duetcases.com is an unofficial community site. It is not affiliated with Anthropic. Duet may be a trademark of Anthropic.

What this does

Claude Duet can build a dashboard, forecast, financial model, or slide deck from apps you connect, and put the finished file in the Make tab. It cannot see files on your computer. A larger job uses more of your plan limits.

Problem

The numbers are already in an app. The missing piece is a single file that answers one question: what changed, or what the next period might look like.

The launch article describes Claude Duet building dashboards and forecasts from the apps you connect. The help center says the finished file — a financial model, a slide deck, or a dashboard — shows up in the Make tab. It also says Claude Duet cannot see the files on your computer, and that larger work draws on the same plan limits as everything else.

This case does not include the scripted café dashboard from the product page. A refresh at 5:30 a.m., and a bank connection shown in that demo, are not written up as features you can request.

Store setup, and staying on top of store performance, is a different case: Set up and manage a Shopify store. The richer visual editor for that storefront is coming soon and is not part of this dashboard. A narrative deck for an audience, rather than a file built from numbers in a connected app, is Build a slide deck with Claude Duet.

Steps

  1. 1Connect the app that holds the numbers, yourself. The launch article describes dashboards, forecasts, and models from connected apps. It does not say Claude Duet can see a folder on your laptop.
  2. 2Paste the prompt and name the decision the file should support. One question is enough.
  3. 3When the job finishes, open the Make tab. The help center says a financial model, a slide deck, and a dashboard are the kinds of files that show up there.
  4. 4Check every figure against the source app. A forecast is a calculation on top of those figures, and it can be wrong.
  5. 5Expect a larger job to draw more of your plan limits. The help center says background and longer work counts toward the same Pro or Max limits.
Using only apps I have connected, build one of the following and tell me which you can actually support with the data you see: a dashboard, a forecast, a financial model, or a short slide deck. Name the figures you used and the ones you had to leave out. Put the finished file in the Make tab. Do not read files on my computer. Do not assume a bank feed or a refresh at a set time. If the data is missing, ask me.

When to use

  • The numbers already live in an app you are willing to connect.
  • You want a file you can open in the Make tab, and you will check the figures.
  • You do not need a scheduled refresh. A 5:30 a.m. auto-refresh appears in a scripted product demo and is not documented as a feature here.

FAQ

Which file types does Anthropic name?

The help center names a research brief, a financial model, a slide deck, and a dashboard as files that show up in the Make tab. The launch article describes dashboards and sales or financial forecasts from connected apps.

Can it open a spreadsheet on my computer?

No. The help center says Claude Duet cannot see the files on your computer. It can read Claude work, and it cannot change that work.

Will it refresh every morning at 5:30?

Do not count on that. The café dashboard in the product video is a scripted demo. This case does not treat a timed auto-refresh, or a bank connector from that demo, as a documented feature.

Claude Duet is a research preview. It can misread a thread or misjudge what is urgent. Review every draft and approval before you confirm it.
